Will Tripura be the Waterloo for Communist's Decimation from India ?
The Left front, which used to be an important national political force, has seen its fortunes decline massively in the last two Lok Sabha elections. The party is currently in power in only two states - Tripura - in the northeast and Kerala in south, and these states does not play a significant role in political landscape of the country.
As Tripura goes to vote on Feb 18, a new front led by BJP has opened up in the state’s traditionally bipolar politics between Congress and Left. Now with the BJP emerging as a key force the equations are shifting in what’s probably the Left’s last bastion.

Sitaram Yechury said, "Amit Shah's new patented formula is to lose elections but form the government. But if the BJP thinks they are on a winning spree, then they must know that like Napoleon, Tripura will be their Waterloo."while referring to the Left Front government's on-going tussle with the BJP in Tripura.
The latest opinion poll and other projections have created immense fear in the Left circle and reasonably they are afraid of a defeat in Tripura that will for sure accelerate the decimation of Communists from India when they are already outclassed in West Bengal in last many election by BJP.
