Kaligram (West Bengal) : On Saturday morning a SERIOUS ATTACK is done on Hindus in Kaligram village under Chanchal Police Station in Malda district. The Hindus are minority there. Muslims had mercilessly beaten up Hindu men and molested Hindu women in the presence of police. Every Hindu house at Maharajtala locality in Kaligram have been attacked by Muslims with sharp weapons. Many Hindus are severely injured. The Police is mute spectator.

By noon, the riot has become more fierce. A mob of 10 thousand plus Muslims had rampaged the area. More Hindu houses are razed. Many more Hindus have been beaten up and injured. Women too are not spared. Police are totally outnumbered by the Muslims & were ineffective. Some policemen were seriously injured by gunshot and bombs.
