Two gunmen stormed an Islamic center in Quebec City and opened fire, killing at least six people and wounding eight others Sunday, police said.Two suspects in the shooting were arrested, Quebec City police spokesman Constable Pierre Poirier said. Their identities haven’t been released.

“Muslim-Canadians are an important part of our national fabric, and these senseless acts have no place in our communities, cities and country.”

अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप की नई आव्रजन नीतियों (इमिग्रेशन पॉलिसी) की चौतरफा हो रही आलोचनाओं के बीच व्हाइट हाउस ने बयान जारी किया है। इसमें यूरोप में बढ़ रहे आतंकवादी हमलों की ओर इशारा करते हुए कहा कि मुस्लिम बहुल सात देशों के नागरिकों के यहां आने पर बैन का मकसद उन हालात से बचना है जो आज फ्रांस, जर्मनी या बेल्जियम के कुछ भागों में हैं.
ट्रंप ने ईरान, इराक, लीबिया, सूडान, यमन, सीरिया और सोमालिया के नागरिकों के अमेरिका में एंट्री पर बैन वाले शासकीय आदेश पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं जिसकी देश में ही नहीं आतंकवादी हमलों का सामना कर चुके जर्मनी और फ्रांस जैसे देशों ने भी आलोचना की है.

अधिकारी ने कहा कि ग्रीन कार्ड के मुद्दे पर उठ रहा संशय छूट (एक्जेप्शन) शब्द की सही व्याख्या नहीं हो पाने के कारण है. उन्होंने कहा कि अगर आप इन सात देशों में से किसी भी देश के नागरिक नहीं हैं तो ये आदेश आपके लिए नहीं हैं.
