Rahul Gandhi Needs Akhilesh Yadav's Cycle Carrier To Save Political Career: BJP

Reacting to the formal announcement of an alliance between the Congress and Samajwadi Party for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections, the BJP said that Rahul Gandhi needed such a tie-up to save his political career.

A day after the alliance was announced by state leaders of the SP and Congress, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra jibed, "Rahul Gandhi needs Akhilesh's cycle carrier to save his political career."

As per the terms of the alliance, the Samajwadi Party will contest 298 seats whereas the Congress will field 105 candidates for the UP polls. Of the total 10 assembly constituents each in Amethi and Raebareli, the Congress and the SP will contest five seats each.

The party also took potshots at Samajwadi Party national president and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav over an alleged incident of manhandling of two women in Aligarh, nearly two kilometres away from the Yamuna Expressway.
